New Zealand's Best Spot is located in the eastern corner of the beautiful
Bay of Plenty (named by Captain James Cook).
Travel approx 16 kms (10 minutes) out of Opotiki on SH 2 towards Gisborne (approx 6km into the Waioeka Gorge) go over two bridges in the gorge and look for signs in the paddocks & at gate that say Natures Edge Camping on the river side of the road. The campground entrance is the gate on the right 100 meters past our green mailbox that says Matahanea on it.

Additional directions:
Once you have gone along the long straight road out of
Opotiki you will start to enter the Waioeka Gorge (bushy terrain) we are
approx 6 kms into the Waioeka Gorge on the river side. Be careful driving in
the Gorge as it has some very sharp bends.
